How things can change in a matter of weeks or even days. From facing three major adjustments in my life, I'm so glad that it's now down to two. My kind hubby has finally "reworked" his logic of shifting out of our comfy home by end of this year to stay with my in-laws.Well, at least I can rest my mind for now and focus on other more important changes in my life. Yes, I believe it's an answered prayer too... I know I'm not inept to manage huge changes in my life all at the same time.It will probably drive me nuts and my Jie Meis will have a busy time coaxing me or listening to my "lamentations".
Right now, I just want to focus on enjoying my last three weeks at HP before moving back to NVPC. It's been a huge decision...from battling with people's perception of "what?! you're changing job again...isn't this job-hopping??" to what's best for me and my family.
To be fair, HP is a fantastic place to work in with great colleagues. I will miss the working culture terribly as there is so much freedom for the employees with lots of room to be thinkers and owners. Something that I really value in a job. It makes one feel like a mini entrepreneur rather than part of a long production line.
However, being a woman, there are "trade-offs" to consider especially as one faces the different stages of life. Argh, no woman of this century will like to admit to this...it's still a man's world in the corporate jungle, unless you are willing to give up certain quality of life - like spending more time with your aging parents and being able to be spend as much time as possible with your children and husband.Allow me to clarify:I'm not saying that successful career women are bad mothers or wives...it's just about what they want more out of their time.Let's be realistic, all of us only have 24 hours everyday and even if we maximise every minute and second, there're only so much we can do.Thus, it's about priorities and what're the things that mattered most in life. To me, it's about the relationships that I love and treasure :)

Indeed good to know that you are staying put in your own home. In fact, you definitely will appreciate the personal space, sense of peace and calmness that your own home offers when facing so many changes ;)
