Bak Kwa and watermelon

It's that time of the year again - where bottles of CNY goodies and packets of Bak Kwa lay scattered around the house. Well, Daddy Iain is a big lover of CNY goodies and the goodies have to be all within his reach anywhere and anytime of the day.So don't be surprised if you see CNY goodies lying in every room in my house as I've long given up putting the bottles back in one place.

I've never been a big fan of CNY goodies as I find them either too sweet or oily. But strangely, this year I have developed a huge appetite for Bak Kwa. About two weeks ago, I couldn't resist the craving and bought a small packet of Bak Kwa edges (those bbq parts that fall off from the main piece.Yummy!) and they tasted simply fabulous. Now I have two packs of round-shapped Bak Kwa and chilli flavoured ones to make my favourite Bak Kwa with cheese sandwich every morning.

Well, I know Bak Kwa is not exactly the healthiest snacks around and I'll try to ration my intake. But I suspect the little one loves the flavour as she's about 29 weeks now and is able to taste the food that I eat. Her "little water world" is also growing at an "exponential rate" and it certainly feels like a huge watermelon than anything else. As much as I try to control the growth of the "watermelon", it really doesn't help that CNY is around the corner. So I guess I would just let go and enjoy myself :P
