Motherhood

Some say that motherhood starts when a life is concieved in the womb, while others say it only starts upon the birth of the baby. I choose to believe the former and that there are different stages of the motherhood to prepare one for the days ahead.

As I recall 7 months ago when I first found out the results of my pregnancy test, I could still remember the odd combination of joy, disbelief and excitement...For sure, I knew I wasn't fully aware of what motherhood would meant, or even being pregnant for nine months would entail...

And so I learnt along the way....from the nauseousness and fatigue of the first trimester, to the unbelievably huge appetite in second trimester...and now the struggle against the symptoms of anemia. Well, I believe a lot of new mothers will probably say"There're more to come". That's very true and the preggie ones would certainly know in their heart that the journey of motherhood has barely started. But by going through each stage of the pregnancy to the birth of the baby, it certainly prepares the heart and mind of the new mother. And as the big EDD draws near, I think the reality of receiving a little new life in your arms would bring upon a completely different perspective of life.It would signal the start of the next stage of motherhood.
