Yesterday was the day which I got my "answer".My maid never returned to Singapore after going home for a short break. I had a strange feeling about this home leave before she left but hubby did not believe me. From her change in work attitude and her "strange behaviour", I guessed as much. Think God did not give women instincts for nothing, especially for mummies.Ha.
To a great extent, I felt a lot of peace and relief. Maybe what Grace said was true. Some mums are cripped with no maids. But I will add on to that - some mums are simply crippled with maids. And I think I am one of those.
Now I can do things at my own pace and schedule, I can go out with ease, I don't have to check on hygiene lapse and shoddy work and the list goes on...But of course there are trade-offs like I need to innovate and simplify my cooking, close one eye to the mess in the house etc. The obvious reality is also that I would not be able to return to work in the near future...Sigh...Ironically I do miss work life and I guess that would have to wait. Meanwhile I will make the best of my days at home and spend more time with my family and friends :)

yes i totally agree, if it's cos of my mum & JY, i will not hire one.
Maids are really just an extra pair of hands to help but they need lots of supervision.Surprising, I found out it is really managaeable for the last week. Just that I have to do things slowly now and pace myself out or I will get really clumsy with the tummy getting into the way.Haha
