2nd labour experience

It's been almost 3 weeks since I went to induce the labour. We had decided not to wait and wait since we were reluctant to have a "half confinement" as Elanor's due date is very close to mid-end Jan.

Well, I can't really remember much of the details but for record sake, I shall try to diary it so that I can share with Elanor next time :)

For the second time, I chose epidural again without hesitation. I was all prepared for the vomiting and pain towards the final stage of labour. But none of them happened...The epidural was managed very differently (maybe Daddy had no time to play with the dosage.Phew!)and I had an almost painless labour, yet with still the urge to push. Wow, fantastic feeling compared to the pain I had when Eliza was being pushed out.

Prior to the final stage, the wait was really long. I was induced at 7.30am and the cervix was barely opened by noontime! When the dosage was increased, the baby's heartbeat dropped. In the end, we had to go slow and easy. By the time, the cervix was ready, it was almost 7pm...So Elanor had decided to come out at the same time as Jie Jie...hence, making me wait and wait even at the end. What a gal!

In all, this second labour was very smooth with minimal side effects (from epidural and all). The womb contractions in the night were bearable too. Really thankful for the relatively easy birth :)
